Standup comic Louie C.K. wins Emmy Award

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Standup comic Louie C.K. wins the Emmy Award for best actor in a comedy.

He plays a standup comic named after himself in FX network comedy "Louie." The dark comedy's character is a divorced dad living in New York City.

It's the second Emmy for Louis C.K. He beat Jim Parsons of CBS' "The Big Bang Theory," who won the previous two Emmys in this category.

Other nominees were Larry David of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," two-time winner Alec Baldwin of NBC's "30 Rock," Don Cheadle of Showtime's "House of Lies" and Jon Cryer of CBS' "Two and a Half Men," a past winner in the supporting actor category.

The 64th Primetime Emmys are airing live from the Nokia Theatre L.A., with Jimmy Kimmel as host.
