On the album chart, other new entries included Feeder's Generation Freakshow at number 13, The Chieftains' Voice of Ages at 25 and Santigold at 33 with Master of My Make-Believe.
White's album is his first solo effort following the demise of the White Stripes last year.
He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the band had finished on a high note.
"We never put out a song that we didn't like or weren't proud of," he said. "We never had any regrets like that. It's a special thing to have."
